Is there a fee to use the trails?
No, The trails are free and open to the public from dawn until dusk.
No, Racine county park rules prohibit dogs at the nature center. Registered service dogs are welcome but must be vested and kept on a leash at all times.
Can I launch my canoe or kayak from your boat launch?
Yes, however all boats must be carried from the parking area, about 1/4 mile. Consider launching at Horlick Dam Park, the boat launch is adjacent to the parking lot. River Bend has a large selection of canoes and kayaks available for rent.
Can I use my snowshoes or cross country skis on the trails?
Yes, however our trails are not groomed and hikers, snowshoers and skiers all use the same trails. When there is sufficient snow cover River Bend rents skis and snowshoes.
Can I use eqipment that I rent from River Bend in another park?
No, Skis and Snowshoes can only be used on River Bend property. Canoes and Kayaks can only be used on the Root River between the Horlick dam and the Highway 31 bridge.
Are bicycles allowed on the trails?
No, for the safety of wildlife and other park visitors bicycles are not allowed on the trails.
No, our proximity to the Batten International Airport prohibits drone use.
I found an injured or orphaned animal, can I bring it to River Bend for rehabilitation?
No, River Bend is not licensed to care for wild animals. Please contact Fellow Mortals Wildlife Hospital for assistance.
