River Bend Nature Center makes it easier for everyone to explore and enjoy the outdoors by offering affordable equipment rentals. Whether you want to paddle local waterways, trek through winter landscapes, or try a new activity, our canoes, kayaks, snowshoes, cross-country skis, and kicksleds provide the gear you need to connect with nature without the commitment of purchasing your own gear. Renting from River Bend removes barriers to outdoor recreation and helps you discover new ways to experience the natural world in every season.
Rental Times:
Monday – Friday, from 8am to 4pm
Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 5pm

Spring-Fall
Canoe and kayak rentals are available May through October.
Boat rentals are on a 1st come 1st served basis.
$20 / members, $25 / non-members per boat / up to 3 hours.
Sometimes after a heavy rain the river is flowing too fast for us to allow boat rentals.

If the latest value is over 600 cubic feet per second then we are not renting boats.
Winter
Cross Country Ski, Snowshoe and Kicksled rentals are available once there is at least 4 inches of snow on the ground.
Cross Country Ski equipment includes skis, poles and boots.
All rentals are weather permitting and are on a first come, first served basis.
Snowshoes – $12+tax per person per session
Cross country skis – $15 + tax per person per session
Kicksleds – $15 + tax per hour
Rental equipment must be used on River Bend grounds only.
