Nature Camps
At River Bend Nature Center, nature camp is a year-round adventure. Whether campers are paddling the river under the summer sun or tracking wildlife through a snow-covered forest in winter, our camps offer hands-on outdoor experiences rooted in environmental education. In a safe, welcoming, and non-competitive atmosphere, young explorers build skills, make friends, and deepen their connection to the natural world — no matter the season. Summer Nature Camp
Our campers spend their days outside, free to explore, play, learn and relax. Rain or shine, campers explore nature and get wet and dirty and tired. Weekly themes inspire young adventurers as they play, learn, meet new friends and relax in the forest, prairie, ponds, and river of River Bend Nature Center. Hiking, canoeing, kayaking, archery, and survival skills are all part of the mix in a safe, positive, non-competitive and engaging atmosphere where campers learn to understand and enjoy the natural world. Underlying the fun, the children are engaged in a strong environmental education curriculum.
Camps run from 8am-1pm, with an extended day option until 5:30pm
Weekly sessions: June 16-August 15, 2025
Cost: $160 members/ $175 non-members / week

Winter Break Nature Camp
Nature doesn’t take a break in the winter, and neither does camp at River Bend Nature Center!
Since it’s never too cold to enjoy nature, River Bend will host a Winter Camp. Come one day – or come for all. Campers will build camp fires, snow shoe (if the weather cooperates), track wildlife, try their hands at archery, cook over the fire, and explore River Bend in the winter. This is a great opportunity to cure that cabin fever and play in the winter forest.
Camps run from 9am-2pm, December 22, 23, 26, 29, 30, 31, and January 2.
Cost: $50/day (members) / $55/day (non-members)
